About the position

The Manager of Campus Operations and Safety at Making Waves Academy is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, safety, and security of a large school campus. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a team, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain a conducive environment for student learning. The manager will coordinate custodial services, manage facility maintenance, and implement safety systems while fostering collaboration among staff and community members.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the duties of the campus operations team, including custodial staff and campus supervisors.
• Implement and maintain a work order and capital forecast reporting system to identify ongoing challenges and forecast needs.
• Oversee the work of outside contractors and vendors, ensuring completion of assignments and compliance with standards.
• Identify security and safety hazards, submitting requests for maintenance and improvement projects as needed.
• Develop a plan for 24-hour coverage for building usage and emergencies, collaborating with school administrators on safety plans.
• Manage the supervision of school activities and facilities to ensure safety for students and staff.
• Maintain inspection records, permits, and internal facility audits, creating standard operating procedures for campus operations.
• Oversee the HVAC Energy Management System and manage the facility support and maintenance ticket system.
• Drive collaboration among various school staff to ensure effective communication and incident response.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in safety and security, preferably in a school environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building maintenance and custodial work coordination.
• 3-5 years of experience supervising employees with effective team leadership skills.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing complex projects with strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations, and policies.
