About the position

The position involves preparing applications, marketing new and existing accounts, and working directly with carriers under the direction of the SVP of Business Development. The role requires managing larger, complex accounts and ensuring effective communication and negotiation with insurance companies to meet business goals. The individual will also oversee the marketing team, assist in training new members, and maintain relationships with various insurance companies to enhance client services.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare applications and market new and existing accounts.
  • Assist producers and senior management in writing new business and retaining renewal accounts.
  • Work on larger, complex accounts including Loss Sensitive, Captives, and Alternative Risk vehicles.
  • Oversee marketing strategy and collaborate with team members to drive business results.
  • Act as a liaison for team members and work directly with carriers and underwriters to meet profit sharing goals.
  • Prepare applications and specifications, reviewing for accuracy and suggesting additional coverages.
  • Make submissions to insurance companies, follow up for quotes, and negotiate with companies.
  • Meet with producers to review and analyze marketing results for proposals and comparisons.
  • Research and develop new markets to maintain competitive status for new business accounts.
  • Promote professional relationships with insurance companies and coordinate meetings.
  • Keep current on insurance company coverages, rates, and changes, and communicate this to staff.
  • Prepare summaries and proposals for new and renewal accounts changing companies.
  • Request policies from insurance companies and issue binders and certificates.
  • Participate in Commercial Strategy Committee meetings to report on carrier contracts and performance.
  • Oversee the marketing team and assist with negotiations and obstacle navigation.
  • Train and develop new members of the marketing team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of insurance experience required.
  • Property Casualty License required.
  • Ability to use menu-driven software, agency management systems, and insurance company rating systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
