About the position

The Manager of Community Partnerships at BioSTL is responsible for enhancing the bioscience workforce strategy in the St. Louis region by fostering community engagement and leadership. This role focuses on building partnerships with public service and nonprofit organizations to create opportunities for historically excluded communities in bioscience careers. The position aims to develop scalable training and support models that ensure equitable access to bioscience jobs, ultimately benefiting both the community and local employers.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations to expose, train, place, and support individuals in bioscience career pathways, emphasizing access for underrepresented communities.
  • Facilitate recruitment efforts by establishing and implementing a strategy to help community partners connect potential candidates to bioscience training and employment opportunities.
  • Coordinate with partner organizations to ensure participants have access to wraparound services (e.g., transportation, childcare) that support training and job placement success.
  • Oversee Talent & Workforce Coordinator(s) responsible for talent enrollment and support to ensure an inclusive and scalable approach to talent engagement.
  • Collaborate with the BioSTL team to execute sector-wide workforce initiatives and meet team and organizational goals, particularly program delivery at community partner sites that expand accessibility.
  • Use feedback from community partners and participants to continuously improve programs and partnership efforts, and support resource development.

Requirements

  • Experience in strategic community-based engagement and/or program management to achieve goals/vision.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships that support regional/shared goals.
  • Demonstrated expertise with project and contact management systems to achieve partnership outcomes.
  • At least two years experience designing, implementing, and managing STEM-related workforce programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership in motivating and engaging a team of employees to achieve results.

Nice-to-haves
