About the position

The Manager of Data Governance at MultiPlan is responsible for leading the implementation and operationalization of the data maturity program. This role involves co-architecting technical foundations for self-service analytics and data shopping architectures, ensuring effective data governance, and promoting a culture of innovative data use within the organization. The position requires strong project management and data architecture skills, along with in-depth knowledge of healthcare data domains and data protection mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Data Maturity Program strategy and framework.
  • Ensure the implementation meets the objectives of the strategy to promote culture change and innovative and effective data use at MultiPlan.
  • Engage the Program Charter members, executing discussions and decisions made during charter meetings.
  • Work with IT, data management and business stakeholders to drive strong data stewardship and ownership.
  • Execute and maintain the strategy and operational documentation and guidelines, including the Program Charter, Onboarding Playbooks, RACI, etc.
  • Help conceive of the foundations and drive the architecture of data storefronts with a self-service data provisioning paradigm.
  • Carry out strategy decisions with the Data Management team around best practice modern data architectures.
  • Actively participate in relevant platform and technology brainstorming sessions and demonstrations.
  • Develop approaches, weighing in available options and negotiating the ideal vs. pragmatic solutions.
  • Develop and conduct solution demonstrations to senior IT and business stakeholders emphasizing outcomes and data product-based value.
  • Collaborate with Data Management and other technical leads to map out the architecture execution, plan resources, timeline, and roadmap.
  • Foster the culture of data ambassadorship within the data stewardship community.
  • Mentor and advise the team, helping groom and develop new in-house skills.
  • Manage and delegate tasks as appropriate to a team of data governance coordinators.
  • Advise and advocate for a common language of data across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare domains and data classification (e.g., claims and eligibility, provider, pricing, risk-based products).
  • Strong project/program management skills.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide implementations of data governance and architecture.
  • Solid understanding of data protection mechanisms (data obfuscation, dynamic/persistent masking, etc.).
  • Technical thought leadership in data architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data platforms such as Snowflake, Informatica, and Databricks.
  • Familiarity with data stewardship and governance best practices.
