About the position

The Manager of Data Science and Business Intelligence will lead a small team in a remote setting, focusing on data analytics and architecture needs across various departments within Pivotal Solutions, Inc. This role involves collaborating with business and IT teams to develop solutions, databases, and reports that meet the company's data storage and retrieval requirements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for building and supporting a multi-year data roadmap, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing the company's data capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze database designs and implementations to ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations such as GDPR and PCI.
  • Build and manage the company's Data Warehouse and Reporting solutions.
  • Create reports using PowerBI.
  • Design and build KPIs to help the business track success.
  • Support analysts throughout the company with data models for reporting needs.
  • Analyze database implementation methods for compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Create data monitoring models for products and collaborate with the marketing team for new releases.
  • Lead the implementation of data modeling solutions.
  • Utilize data science and applied statistical techniques like anomaly detection and machine learning.
  • Maintain the integrity and security of the company database.
  • Confer with staff, users, and management to establish data requirements for new systems or modifications.
  • Coordinate with third-party IT vendors.
  • Provide reports or data as required by end users.
  • Define requirements and develop 'productized' data sets by transforming, mining, cleaning, and combining complex data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science (BS) Degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in data science.
  • 3-5 years of experience leading or managing a team.
  • Knowledge of SQL; familiarity with Python, Snowflake, DBT, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Experience with machine learning solutions.
  • Background in AWS is a plus; must have experience with Azure, AWS, or Google platforms.
  • Experience in machine learning and statistics.
  • Demonstrated data-driven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to problems.
  • Experience in a user support role within a manufacturing setting is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with modeling solutions like Simio.
  • Manufacturing background.
