About the position
The Manager of Employee Relations at MAB Community Services is a key role within the Human Resources Team, responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and training on performance management and related matters. This position supports a non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and other needs. The Manager will lead investigations into employee complaints, manage performance management practices, and coach supervisory staff, all while fostering effective relationships across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead investigations into employee complaints or participant claims of abuse through to their conclusion.
- Manage performance management and corrective action practices, including support for verbal warnings, written warnings, performance improvement plans, investigations, and terminations.
- Coach and train supervisory staff on performance management practices and interviewing skills.
- Process unemployment claims and manage the appeals process.
- Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all levels of management and staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible human resources and/or business management experience.
- Thorough understanding of best practices regarding Human Resources and Employee Relations.
- High level of proficiency in problem-solving and implementing new programs.
- Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- PHR/SPHR or other HR certification.
- Experience within the industry is highly preferred.
