About the position

The Manager of Enterprise General Accounting at PSEG is responsible for overseeing the monthly accounting close process and managing all general accounting matters for the organization. This role involves ensuring accurate accounting and reporting, coordinating balance sheet reconciliations, and maintaining compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls. The position also includes developing accounting staff and participating in external and internal reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coordinate, and execute the monthly accounting close process.
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations for PSEG and subsidiaries.
  • Ensure proper accounting and reporting of general accounting matters including pensions, trust investments, and incentive compensation.
  • Review and approve all monthly journal entries for PSEG and subsidiaries.
  • Coordinate monthly accounting close process, maintain closing calendar, and communicate key dates.
  • Manage and maintain applicable Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) narratives and corporate policies.
  • Ensure proper execution of applicable SOX controls.
  • Develop and manage accounting staff that report directly and indirectly to the position.
  • Participate in the external and internal reporting process, including reviewing financial statement analytics and audit requests.
  • Perform accounting research and prepare position papers with appropriate documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 7 years of relevant Accounting experience.
