About the position

The Manager of Events and Hospitality at the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) is responsible for creating and executing memorable events for the legal community in Kansas City. This role involves coordinating all aspects of event planning, including financial oversight, logistics, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful events.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute signature events for the legal community.
  • Manage financial aspects including budgeting and financial leadership.
  • Coordinate with volunteer committees, registrations, speakers, sponsorship, awards, and logistics.
  • Oversee venue management and all event details to ensure success.
  • Handle facilities and hospitality management, calendar management, and room setup.
  • Manage purchasing, contracting, and maintenance related to events.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills, including socializing and greeting attendees.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to problem solve and think independently.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
