About the position

The Manager of Finance for the Faculty of Medicine is responsible for overseeing various financial operations, providing direction and expertise in financial management, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This permanent position involves planning, budgeting, supervising staff, and collaborating with other departments to enhance financial processes and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction in various financial aspects of the Faculty of Medicine.
• Plan and coordinate activities in the Finance Office.
• Supervise and direct the work of Finance Office staff.
• Create and monitor budgets on a continual basis.
• Study projects, policies, and procedures to improve workflow and service.
• Conduct internal auditing functions.
• Prepare complex, statistical, fiscal, and analytical reports for the COO.
• Oversee expenditures and maintenance of financial commitments in Banner Finance and other accounting software.
• Participate on various committees.
• Provide guidance and finance expertise to Faculty and Staff.
• Collaborate with the Human Resources Office.
• Liaise with the University's Financial and Administrative Services Department and finance staff at the Department of Health and Community Services.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in financial operations and management.
• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting.
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Familiarity with funding agency policies.
• Experience with Banner Finance.

Benefits

• Salary range of $76,250 - $98,840 per annum.
