About the position

The Manager of Fraud Analytics (US Retail Card Services) at TD Bank is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing various products and business channels with the primary objective of minimizing fraud losses and identifying fraud patterns. This position, also referred to as Manager, Fraud Performance Management, involves leading the development of fraud strategies aimed at mitigating losses while balancing customer and operational impacts. The manager will report on overall fraud losses and trends, monitor rule strategy performance, and utilize SQL to reconcile numerous metrics, summarizing findings for executives and business partners. In this role, the manager will provide leadership in people management by hiring top talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing performance, and making compensation decisions. The position requires a thorough review of fraud attacks to understand and address coverage gaps, participation in fraud loss forecasting exercises, and the development of insights and rules to deliver on fraud loss plans. The manager will also oversee the management of fraud rule strategies across various prevention platforms, ensuring adherence to change management protocols. Additionally, the manager will participate in operational forecasting and capacity planning, manage fraud case prioritization strategies, and collaborate with defect managers to identify and remediate coverage gaps. The role includes identifying key reporting needs to manage fraud losses and supporting existing monitoring by refreshing reports as data or requirements change. The manager will also support project intent and ongoing partner projects, leveraging fraud expertise to define resilient products and processes, and ensure alignment with fraud policies. This position is remote, with standard working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee products and business channels to minimize fraud losses and identify fraud patterns.
  • Lead the development of fraud strategies to mitigate fraud loss for respective products/channels.
  • Report on overall fraud losses and trends, monitoring rule strategy performance.
  • Utilize SQL to reconcile numerous metrics and summarize findings for executives and business partners.
  • Provide people management leadership by hiring, setting goals, developing staff, and managing performance.
  • Review fraud attacks to understand and address coverage gaps.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual fraud loss forecasting exercises.
  • Develop insights and rules to deliver on fraud loss plans.
  • Manage shifting network rules and liability requirements.
  • Uncover and resolve process gaps throughout the Bank.
  • Provide alert support to address emerging threats.
  • Manage strategy design and configuration in all fraud prevention platforms.
  • Participate in operational forecasting and capacity planning.
  • Manage fraud case prioritization strategy to optimize return-on-investment.
  • Identify and address key reporting needs required to manage fraud losses.
  • Support project intent and ongoing partner projects, providing risk identification and cost estimates.
  • Provide monthly partner loss performance updates and participate in review sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g. Math, Statistics, Business) is required.
  • Master's Degree in a related discipline is preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in fraud analytics or related fields.
  • Experience with SQL/SAS/Data manipulation tools is required.
  • Experience in Python is preferred.
  • Previous experience with related fraud is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of TD Products and Channels is necessary.
  • People management experience is an asset.
  • Proven ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external business partners is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex analyses in technical and non-technical terms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with fraud prevention platforms such as Falcon, TSYS, FIS, SQN, PRM, Citadel, DPS, VCAS, Avant, Experian, and TransUnion.
  • Knowledge of systems and processes related to fraud management.
  • Conceptual thinking ability to analyze data and derive conclusions.
