The Manager of HR Operations is a supervisory role within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington, responsible for overseeing HR operations, including faculty compensation changes, employee lifecycle activities, and managing a team of HR specialists. This position requires a high level of expertise in HR and payroll systems, policy compliance, and strategic HR guidance to support the department's growth and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all faculty compensation changes and employee lifecycle activities.
  • Conduct analysis and guide decision-making regarding faculty compensation policies.
  • Manage the department unit adjustment process and ensure alignment with payroll and clinical finance teams.
  • Provide direct guidance and consultation to department leaders on HR policies and best practices.
  • Direct the implementation of new employee orientation processes and onboarding activities.
  • Manage Workday data and reporting to inform HR guidance and decision-making.
  • Provide oversight and guidance of FMLA requests and employee accommodations.
  • Develop procedures for new HR duties and identify solutions for HR issues.
  • Participate in professional activities to stay updated on HR developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in Human Resources or Academic Medicine.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High proficiency in using Workday or other HRIS.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Academic Medicine Administration.
  • SHRM Professional Certification.
  • Master's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
