About the position

The Manager of Inventory Control and Purchasing at Delta Group Electronics, Inc. is responsible for directing and coordinating the procurement activities of the organization. This role involves overseeing the purchasing and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring that the procurement function operates efficiently and effectively. The manager will lead a team of supervisors and employees, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the procurement function.
• Supervises stockroom personnel engaged in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.
• Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
• Evaluates vendor quotations using negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
• Designs, implements, manages, and monitors procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements.
• Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high-quality products and services at competitive prices.
• Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness and specifications.
• Negotiates or supervises the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or five years of experience in a Purchasing Management position or equivalent.
• Strong preference for a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
