About the position

The Manager of Labor Relations at Cook County Bureau of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing labor relations activities, ensuring effective communication between management and union representatives, and managing collective bargaining agreements. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining a positive work environment and addressing employee concerns within a large public service organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee labor relations activities and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Facilitate communication between management and union representatives.
  • Manage and negotiate collective bargaining agreements.
  • Address employee grievances and resolve disputes in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement labor relations strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to management on labor relations issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor relations or human resources management.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and collective bargaining processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.

Nice-to-haves
