About the position

The Maintenance Control Manager at Thrive Aviation plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and efficiency of the organization's maintenance operations. This position involves overseeing both on-site and remote maintenance control employees, managing maintenance control operations for the fleet, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. The manager will also be responsible for budget management, effective communication with staff and management, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of maintenance control operations for Thrive Aviation's fleet.
  • Ensure Maintenance Control operates within company policies and regulatory regulations.
  • Monitor compliance with all regulatory requirements regarding aircraft maintenance.
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and guidance to Maintenance Controllers.
  • Ensure proper paperwork is filed for component overhauls and certifications in accordance with manuals and regulations.
  • Ensure proper execution of an Airworthiness Release and sign for work accomplishment on applicable forms.
  • Process all necessary paperwork as mandated by regulation.
  • Create and maintain budgets for maintenance operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Delegate assigned work efficiently and exercise sound judgment in executing projects.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management regarding maintenance activities.
  • Make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment to ensure safety and airworthiness of the fleet.
  • Foster a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.

Requirements

  • 7 years of management experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Current Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management or related field, or 7-10 years of Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection experience with a Part 135 operator.
  • 5 years in a supervisory or management position.
  • Expert level knowledge of FAA regulations as it pertains to aircraft maintenance.
  • Strong leadership skills with extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance and regulatory requirements.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and applicable software tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency and knowledge of industry-specific software tools, including Flexx, Traxxall, CAMP, and Corridor.
