About the position

Jumpstart For Young Children Inc. is seeking a Manager of Marketing and Content who will play a pivotal role in creating and managing both traditional and digital promotional content for all marketing, donor, and cross-organizational communications. This position is essential in ensuring that Jumpstart's messaging is consistent, engaging, and effective across various platforms. The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker, skilled in graphic and video content creation, with a strong focus on audience engagement. In this role, the Manager will be responsible for delivering on-brand and on-strategy creative assets for outreach materials, websites, email campaigns, social media, organic and paid advertising, publications, and events. The successful candidate will collaborate with various internal teams, including Marketing, Programs, Education, and Development, as well as external vendors, to conceptualize, design, and schedule marketing content. This position requires a balance of creative skills, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of effective workflows to enhance Jumpstart's brand presence. The Manager of Marketing and Content will report to the Associate Director of Digital and Donor Communications and will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on how Jumpstart communicates early childhood education needs. This role will allow for the development of new creative tactics and projects, shaping the future of the brand and influencing early education initiatives across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage traditional and digital promotional content for marketing, donor, and cross-organizational communications.
  • Deliver effective, on-brand, and on-strategy creative assets for outreach materials, websites, email, social media, organic and paid advertising, publications, and events.
  • Ensure consistency of visual brand and creative vision across the Jumpstart network and all audience touchpoints.
  • Lead design and management of visual branded assets for special events and products.
  • Manage graphic updates to the Jumpstart website and all brand platforms using existing brand guidelines and site templates.
  • Edit short-form video on a regular basis, implementing basic motion graphic design.
  • Assist in art direction of brand photography and videos as needed.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and contract designers as needed.
  • Create social media and newsletter copy as needed.
  • Support creation of internal presentations and talking points for leadership teams.
  • Develop and execute new content production and distribution workflows with the Marketing and Communications team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to produce communications and marketing collateral.
  • Manage content requests and set expectations on content workflow across the organization.
  • Stay abreast of marketing trends and communicate new tactics with key organizational managers.
  • Review campaign performance reports and implement learnings to optimize content and engagement.
  • Support community management by responding to questions and comments from the public.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience producing creative and compelling digital and/or print collateral for professional brands or organizations.
  • Excellent creative design skills, including a background in brand communication design.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Basic to Intermediate experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut Pro).
  • Experience with online design tools like Canva.
  • Strong task management and analytical skills, with the ability to thrive in an energetic environment.
  • Strong portfolio of design work.
  • Ability to work independently and as a self-starter.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Experience with Social Media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok).
  • Basic knowledge of web design, user interface design, and development principles.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher).

  • Strong project management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience working with project management software (Monday, Jira, Wrike, Airtable, or similar products).
  • Basic comfort level and familiarity with emerging AI tools.
  • Experience with A/B multivariate testing, analytics platforms, and personalization tools.
  • Experience or familiarity with Motion Graphics.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
