About the position

Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Jersey City Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, the Manager of Marketing & Public Relations will develop and implement communication strategies to support marketing initiatives and oversee internal and external communications, developing key messages and content that supports the organization’s priorities. The Manager will interact with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, management, donors, physicians, Trustees, and community partners. This role requires occasional weekend and evening work, as well as rotating on-call coverage for media calls.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal communications, including updating content on employee intranet and distributing weekly employee newsletters.
• Coordinate marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, posters, banners, and giveaways.
• Assist with the production of the annual nursing report and the hospital’s monthly cable TV show.
• Update hospital websites and manage online reputation management.
• Establish and maintain relationships with news media and represent Jersey City Medical Center to the media when the Assistant Vice President is unavailable.
• Draft press releases and media statements as needed.
• Create written and visual content for the hospital’s social media channels and assist in maintaining the hospital’s social media accounts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in communications, marketing, or a related discipline in the healthcare environment.
• 5+ years of proven marketing experience at either a for-profit or non-profit organization.
• Strong writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
