About the position

The Manager of Native Plant and Product Production at Prairie Restorations, Inc. (PRI) plays a crucial role in the strategic planning and oversight of production within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring that the company produces and provides the most ecologically appropriate seeds, plants, trees, and shrubs available in the industry. The Manager must adhere to all ethical, legal, and safety guidelines as outlined in the company's Policy and Procedure manuals. This role is integral to the mission of PRI, which is to restore and manage native plant communities through innovative and sustainable practices. In this position, the Manager will oversee the production and inventory of all PRI products, ensuring that the operations align with the company's core values of growing together with positive perseverance, passion for nature, integrity, and respect for all. The Manager will be tasked with producing reports, budgets, and metrics to evaluate the success and outcomes of the products department, as requested by the President/CEO. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for managing land rental agreements and any necessary licenses or certificates required for the products department to operate effectively. The role also involves evaluating production costs and becoming proficient with Zoho functions to enhance operational efficiency. The Manager will envision and plan for the growth and efficient operations of all native plant production facilities, equipment, and procedures. This includes overseeing the maintenance and repair of production facilities and equipment, as well as developing and implementing systems for the production and delivery of all PRI products. A positive workplace attitude and contribution to a positive service team environment are essential, as the Manager will be a key member of the Business Management Team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production and inventory of all PRI products.
  • Produce reports, budgets, and metrics for evaluating success and outcomes of the products department as requested by the President.
  • Manage land rental agreements and any licenses or certificates the products department may need to operate.
  • Determine and evaluate production costs.
  • Become competent with Zoho functions.
  • Envision and plan growth and efficient operations of all native plant production facilities, equipment, and procedures.
  • Maintain driver responsibilities, including transport of equipment, requiring a MN DOT permit.
  • Develop and implement systems for the production and delivery of all PRI products.
  • Oversee the native plant production facilities and equipment, scheduling maintenance and repair for the products division as needed.
  • Maintain a positive workplace attitude and contribute to positive service team attitude.
  • Be a key member of the Business Management Team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in production management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of ecological practices and native plant production.
  • Ability to produce and analyze reports, budgets, and metrics.
  • Familiarity with Zoho or similar software for operational management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work both in an office environment and in the field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the horticulture or agriculture industry.
  • Knowledge of land rental agreements and licensing requirements.
  • Familiarity with safety and legal guidelines in production environments.
