As the Manager of Network Engineering (VoIP), you will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and performance of our network. Your expertise ensures our services are always online, secure, and optimized, driving the trust and satisfaction that our customers depend on. This is an onsite position in New Hope, PA, where you will lead the planning, deployment, management, and oversight of our entire production network. Your role is crucial in maintaining network uptime and ensuring 100% service availability. You will lead and manage the operations, maintenance, and system administration of our core network components. This includes ensuring optimal performance and capacity planning for server hardware, connectivity, and security measures. You will oversee the operation and enhancement of VoIP-specific network components, including Asterisk-based applications, SIP trunk connections, and session border controllers. Collaboration with product developers and QA teams will be essential to integrate new features and applications, ensuring smooth deployment and operation. Additionally, you will innovate by identifying and automating manual tasks, enhancing efficiency and scalability, and providing technical support for escalated customer issues, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, deployment, management, and oversight of the entire production network.
  • Maintain network uptime and ensure 100% service availability.
  • Manage the operations, maintenance, and system administration of core network components.
  • Ensure optimal performance and capacity planning for server hardware, connectivity, and security measures.
  • Oversee the operation and enhancement of VoIP-specific network components, including Asterisk-based applications, SIP trunk connections, and session border controllers.
  • Collaborate with product developers and QA teams to integrate new features and applications, ensuring smooth deployment and operation.
  • Identify and automate manual tasks to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide technical support for escalated customer issues, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.

Requirements

  • Expert-level understanding of VoIP technologies, including SIP, WebRTC, and open-source platforms.
  • At least 8 years of experience in large network operations, with a strong background in systems administration and capacity management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in VoIP service design, implementation, and maintenance, including SIP/PSTN connectivity and 911 call routing.
  • Proficient with Linux, VMware, and infrastructure/server configuration.
  • Working knowledge of Asterisk-based call control and various DevOps tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud migration, particularly to AWS, OCI, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zenoss, ELK, and Cloudwatch.
  • Light coding or scripting skills and comfort with automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
