About the position

The Manager of Payer Strategies at Southwest Healthcare is responsible for assisting the Regional Managed Care Director with payer contracting and relations. This fully remote position focuses on maximizing the performance of managed care contracts, maintaining contract inventories, and managing confidential insurance rate information. The role also involves participation in various managed care projects and committees, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and fostering effective communication with clinical personnel and the public.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing and maximizing the performance of UHS managed care contracted business.
• Maintain inventory of managed care contracts and renewal timelines.
• Manage confidential hospital insurance rate information and work on special projects as needed.
• Assist the Regional Director of Managed Care with delivery system Managed Care projects and steering committees.
• Participate in regional revenue cycle and denials management committees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in a related field.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in healthcare contracting and negotiations in an ASC setting required.
• Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience preferred.
• Demonstrated managed care contract negotiation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of managed care contracting and practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to set priorities and organize workload effectively.
• Extensive knowledge of healthcare finance practices and methods.
