About the position

The Manager of Procurement and Supply Chain Sustainability is responsible for integrating supplier environmental, social, and governance sustainability initiatives in alignment with Honda's vision and strategies. This role involves supervising team members within the Sustainability Unit and requires strong industry knowledge and engagement with various stakeholders. The manager will develop and implement strategies to achieve Honda's sustainability targets while promoting continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute OEM Direct Supplier sustainability strategies aligned with Honda's objectives.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Participate in industry initiatives to improve sustainability across the automotive industry.
  • Represent Honda as a subject matter expert at conferences, events, and workshops.
  • Supervise and mentor sustainability team associates, promoting strong performance and addressing concerns.
  • Manage achievement of KPI and Business Plan/Special Project targets and initiatives.
  • Analyze results and lead the team in countermeasure development for unit improvement.
  • Develop and build supplier relationships while monitoring industry trends.
  • Lead efforts to build a sustainability culture through awareness and education.
  • Provide direction and input to the global sustainability vision and corporate direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business (preferred focus on sustainability) or relevant experience.
  • 10-12 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work across industries to improve supplier relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Robust critical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Leadership experience and strong presentation skills.

  • Experience in the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and regulations.
