About the position

The Manager of Program Operations for the Single Business Office (SBO) at UW Medicine is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of business and workflow requirements within the revenue cycle operations. This position involves collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance patient experience management and ensure efficient service delivery across various facilities. The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and the establishment of best practices to promote operational efficiency and standardization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of business and workflow requirements, future state workflows, and workflow reengineering.
  • Ensure consistent communication and coordinate problem solving among revenue departments.
  • Develop and mentor direct reports and team members to increased levels of performance and professional growth.
  • Develop and maintain interdepartmental relationships and partner with multiple disciplines across all facilities to enhance/support revenue cycle operations.
  • Discover and implement best practices that promote efficiency and standardization across the system.
  • Identify needs and develop policies and procedures to address them across facilities and disciplines.
  • Establish, review, and revise SBO-related metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, healthcare administration or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience - two years must be senior leadership experience in a complex academic, research, healthcare or governmental setting.
  • Understands implications of accounts receivable, in regard to information flow from the medical record coding, claim submission, patient billing and the overall relationship to cash flow.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with APC/APG reimbursement, CMS rules and regulations, coding, billing, and compliance.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of the UB-04, MA claim form, and the Claim Form-1500.
  • Experience with the EPIC Hospital Billing System.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent project management, problem solving and analytical skills.
