About the position

The Manager of Retail, Tanning, and Club Operations Support is responsible for ensuring retail excellence and optimizing tanning services across the Crunch Fitness network. This role involves managing product selection, vendor relationships, and inventory processes to drive retail revenue while supporting new club openings. The position combines retail and procurement expertise with operational support to enhance member experience and revenue streams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement retail and tanning strategies that align with brand standards.
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms.
  • Stay current with market trends to introduce relevant products and phase out underperforming items.
  • Oversee the procurement and inventory process across all clubs, adjusting stock levels based on sales trends.
  • Implement an inventory tracking system to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Conduct weekly retail inventory checks and place necessary orders to ensure continuous product availability.
  • Conduct pricing and profitability analysis to set competitive retail prices.
  • Track retail and tanning sales and monitor budgets, preparing reports to inform purchasing strategies.
  • Partner with Regional Directors and General Managers to set operational goals for new locations.
  • Support club reinvestment efforts by assisting with equipment updates and vendor coordination.
  • Ensure retail and tanning products comply with company standards and health/safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular assessments of retail displays and tanning equipment setups.
  • Oversee tanning and hydromassage installations and compliance checks.
  • Create training content and conduct quarterly training sessions for compliance and proficiency.
  • Manage tanning equipment calibration and maintenance records.
  • Work with marketing and club operations teams to plan retail promotions and product placements.
  • Train club staff on product knowledge and retail sales techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Retail Management, or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in retail purchasing, inventory management, or a similar role, preferably in the fitness, health, or wellness industry.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing vendor relationships.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with expertise in financial analysis and inventory planning.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth knowledge of products common in health clubs.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
