About the position

The Manager of Retention Operations and Data at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) is responsible for enhancing member retention and engagement through data-driven insights. This role involves managing membership data reporting, analyzing trends, and developing strategies to support member recruitment and retention. The position also oversees invoicing and sales orders related to membership dues, ensuring accuracy and supporting an annual revenue target of $57 million. The incumbent will collaborate with various teams to streamline processes and maintain service delivery to AIA members, even during extraordinary circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Manage membership data reporting and analytics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Oversee the distribution of invoices and sales orders related to the Membership dues portfolio.
  • Support an annual revenue target of $57 million through accurate invoicing and sales order production.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and analyze membership trends.
  • Develop engagement campaigns based on data insights to enhance member retention and engagement.
  • Produce and share routine and ad hoc reports on membership metrics.
  • Craft sophisticated membership acquisition and retention strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in membership development and data analysis roles.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with intermediate or expert facility required.
  • Experience with Fonteva or Salesforce reporting is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail in working with databases, tables/figures, and data reports.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, solve problems, and carry out responsibilities independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and judgment calls to resolve membership and/or processing issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some college preferred, ideally within an association or similar organization.
