About the position

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Card - Connected Commerce Rewards group, you will lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities. Your role will involve identifying and escalating issues while ensuring that your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices. You will be responsible for balancing managerial tasks with hands-on engineering tasks, focusing on delivery and backlog management. In this position, you will provide guidance to your immediate team of software engineers, which consists of about seven members. You will set the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration. Anticipating dependencies with other teams will be crucial to delivering products and applications that align with business requirements. You will also manage stakeholder relationships and ensure that the team's work complies with standards, service level agreements, and business requirements. Creating a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect among team members will be a priority, as you will strive to promote diverse representation within your team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities.
  • Provide guidance to an immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities, consisting of about seven members.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5 years of applied experience.
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience.
  • Experience leading technology projects.
  • Experience managing technologists.
  • Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
  • Practical cloud-native experience.
  • Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with expertise in technology disciplines.
