As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector, you will lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues. Your role will ensure that your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices. You will provide guidance to your immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities, setting the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration. In this position, you will anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements. Managing stakeholder relationships will be crucial, as you will ensure that the team's work aligns with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements. You will also be responsible for creating a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect among team members, prioritizing diverse representation within your teams. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering an environment where innovation thrives, and you will be expected to guide and coach your teams towards achieving their goals aligned with strategic initiatives. This role requires a strong technical background, particularly in AWS, Databricks, and Spark, as well as the ability to mentor and develop talent within your teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple teams of software engineers in day-to-day implementation activities.
  • Provide guidance to the team on daily tasks and activities.
  • Set overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.
  • Anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure compliance with standards and service level agreements.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
  • 5 years of development experience in AWS, Databricks, Spark, Java frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience leading teams of technologists.
  • Ability to guide and coach teams to achieve goals aligned with strategic initiatives.
  • Experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
  • Strong proficiency in AWS, Spark, and Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems.
  • Practical cloud-native experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working at the code level.
  • Strong skills in AWS cloud and Spark.
  • Strong Python skills.
  • Experience in UI design using React.
