About the position

As a Manager of Software Engineering at Capital One, you will lead a team of developers in creating innovative solutions that address regulatory needs through diverse technology projects. This role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and staying abreast of technological trends to drive transformation within the company. You will work closely with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that enhance customer experiences and empower millions of Americans financially.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.
• Stay on top of tech trends and experiment with new technologies.
• Participate in internal and external technology communities.
• Mentor other members of the engineering community.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• At least 2 years of people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree
• 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, React, Java, TypeScript, or SQL
• 3+ years of experience with AWS
• 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
• 5+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
