As the Manager of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a team of front-end and .NET developers, overseeing the design, development, testing, and deployment of customer-facing software applications built on the Microsoft .NET framework. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, highly skilled, and innovative leader with a deep knowledge of .NET development, front-end technologies, and application architecture. This role requires a strong customer focus, working closely with the Product Management Team, and a dedication to the software engineering team's continuous improvement. In this position, you will set and uphold standard methodologies for the design, development, and support of our critical applications and services as we undertake the digital transformation of our field and family-facing experience software. You will manage the success and growth of your team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions, define and enforce coding standards, and collaborate with other teams to align software projects with business goals and requirements. Your leadership will be crucial in promoting understanding of technical risks and opportunities with non-technical audiences, ensuring customer-focused responsiveness to problem-solving and incident management, and mentoring new team members to integrate them fully into the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the success and growth of a team of software engineers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Define, document, and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development methodologies.
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as product management, quality assurance, and operations, to ensure that software projects are aligned with business goals and requirements.
  • Act as an escalation point for Agile teams to provide guidance in software engineering standard methodologies.
  • Review code and provide feedback to team members, ensuring that code is of high quality and meets established standards.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development and ensure that the team is using best-in-class tools and techniques.
  • Promote understanding of technical risks and opportunities with non-technical audiences to assist with delivery prioritization, and optimally set expectations to partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Customer-focused responsiveness to problem-solving and incident management.
  • Hire, train, and mentor new team members, ensuring that they are fully integrated into the team.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in software engineering or a related field.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
