About the position

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, you will lead multiple teams within the Data Delivery technology team, overseeing day-to-day implementation activities. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with standards and business requirements while fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion among team members.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities.
• Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.
• Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.
• Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
• Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Java/Spark technologies.
• Experience in understanding requirements related to extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data using Java/Spark on Hadoop platform.
• Strong SQL skills; Teradata preferred but experience in any other RDBMS technology is acceptable.
• Good knowledge about Data Warehousing Concepts.
• Ability to independently design, build, test, and deploy code.
• Ability to lead by example and guide the team with technical expertise.
• Ability to identify risks/issues for the project and manage them accordingly.

Nice-to-haves

• People management skills would be given preference but are not mandatory.
• Knowledge or experience on ETL technologies like Informatica or Ab-initio would be preferable.
• Practical cloud native experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
