About the position

As the Manager of Software Engineering at R1 RCM, you will lead the development and maintenance of SaaS healthcare applications and services. This role involves designing software solutions, collaborating with product management, and mentoring a team of engineers to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software solutions with an engineering mindset.
  • Collaborate with product management to assess and plan releases and roadmaps.
  • Mentor and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance and support.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality enterprise software on schedule.
  • Drive difficult projects through to completion.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment and be comfortable working with others and giving and receiving feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience delivering web-based applications and services.
  • Understanding of object-oriented principles in languages such as C#, C++, and Java.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Expertise in high-level programming languages.
  • Experience with message or data streaming-based application development using technologies like JMS, Azure Messaging Services, Apache Kafka, or Amazon MQ.
  • Knowledge of web services standards and related technologies (XML, XSD, SOAP, JSON, REST).
  • Experience with relational and non-relational database technologies (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, HBase) and concepts like ACID and CAP theorem.
  • Understanding of modern software development methodologies including version control, unit testing, and continuous integration & deployment.
