About the position

The Sourcing & Product Development Manager at DICK'S Sporting Goods is responsible for overseeing and leading the product development process in collaboration with vendors for their brand(s). This role involves ensuring that products meet quality standards, developing and executing a global sourcing strategy, and monitoring production and quality control across various regions in the Americas. The manager plays a critical role in connecting product needs with sourcing strategies and enhancing efficiencies in the product development process.

Responsibilities

• Drive the brand's global sourcing strategy and execution.
• Participate in milestone meetings and line reviews, recommending solutions for product development.
• Advise on supplier and factory matrix evolution based on business needs.
• Understand factory competency and support product placement strategy.
• Lead and monitor sample and fabric/trim/packaging approval processes to ensure timely delivery.
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies in the product development process.
• Utilize component costing skills to meet or exceed cost and margin targets.
• Validate target costs and collaborate with product managers for final cost approval.
• Ensure execution and product integrity of the brand's Americas production.
• Monitor WIP reports to manage production timelines.
• Manage Americas' vendor relationships based on the brand's sourcing strategy.
• Lead speed to market and replenishment strategies with cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• Senior level experience in product development.
• Strong understanding of global sourcing strategies.
• Experience in vendor management and production oversight.
• Ability to analyze and validate cost structures and margins.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
