About the position

The OHSU Finance & Operations Analytics (OFOA) Manager is responsible for managing the BIAA staff, providing technical oversight of OHSU's financial planning and analysis systems, and leading initiatives aimed at improving financial performance through analytics. This role involves overseeing a team that supports revenue cycle analytics and budgeting/forecasting/reporting systems, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance financial reporting and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage BIAA staff, including recruitment, development, and oversight of work products.
  • Provide technical oversight of OHSU financial planning and analysis systems, including Syntellis Axiom and TM1/Rubix.
  • Lead executive-sponsored initiatives to improve financial performance through analytics.
  • Act as a liaison for finance and revenue cycle-related inquiries from OHSU.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to implement and maintain accurate cost accounting data and systems.
  • Assign team members to build and maintain financial reports for various departments.
  • Triaging and assigning ad hoc data projects.
  • Lead training and support for financial reporting in various tools including Epic Caboodle and Power BI.
  • Provide analysis and guidance on implementing financial analytics solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related field.
  • Five years of management responsibility or project leadership experience, or an advanced degree with two years of leadership experience.
  • Experience with financial reporting and forecasting systems such as Strata or Axiom.
  • Experience facilitating user meetings to document data and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial principles.
  • Understanding of financial reporting concepts like cost accounting and break-even analysis.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
  • Experience leading presentations and training sessions.
  • Experience with relational databases and data warehouse solutions.
  • Ability to read and write SQL and advanced spreadsheet skills.
  • Experience with BI systems/tools such as Business Objects, PowerBI, and Tableau.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced technical systems in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with Epic Systems reporting tools.
