About the position

The Manager On Board Services at Amtrak is responsible for overseeing the delivery of on-train services for designated routes, ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Provide field management and oversight of on-train service delivery.
  • Respond to and address customer needs and issues in person and through formal correspondence.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of on-board services, ensuring exceptional customer service and financial improvements.
  • Oversee financial performance metrics, including revenue increases and cost reductions.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to maintain service quality and compliance with regulations.
  • Lead and develop talent through performance management and talent evaluation.
  • Implement continuous process improvements to enhance customer service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Transportation, or related fields.
  • Significant leadership experience in customer service and financial management, preferably in transportation-related operations.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 or more years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing metrics and data to improve operations.
  • Experience managing an operating budget in excess of $100 million.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
