About the position

The Manager, On-Premise Hospitality is responsible for driving business and commercial performance across a state or multi-state field unit while developing strong partnerships with local clients and distributor networks. This role involves managing a team of customer-facing Advisors and Educators to implement brand initiatives in target on-premise accounts. The position requires effective communication with clients, budget management, and strategic planning to achieve commercial growth and enhance brand presence in the market.

Responsibilities

• Enforce and monitor all legal and marketing code guidelines with direct reports.
• Hire, onboard, and develop the local on-premise team, providing feedback, mentorship, and career pathing.
• Communicate regularly with client counterparts and distributor networks to align on market execution approaches for the local team.
• Manage financial responsibilities for the local unit, including account support and T&E planning.
• Plan, track, and implement brand and portfolio engagement using performance data provided by the agency and client.
• Lead key initiatives on behalf of the designated team, including brand/category knowledge training and point of sale management.
• Seek out opportunities within the market to feature promotional resources and partners for the client's brand portfolio.
• Communicate and partner with complementary client programs to ensure seamless in-market executions.
• Travel within the assigned territory to work with direct reports 1:1 to understand individual successes and challenges.
• Highlight team successes and drive support for local initiatives across the agency team.

Requirements

• College degree (4-year) or B.A./B.S. equivalent with a focus on Communications, Marketing, or Business.
• 5-7 years of people management experience required.
• 5-7 years of experience in the spirits industry, agency experience preferred.
• Experience in a field-based role, management experience required.
• Proven strong customer relationship experience.
• Strong budget management skills.
• Knowledge of liquor laws, regulations, and rules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Persuasive selling and negotiation skills are required to develop and maintain strong relationships.
• Ability to work remotely and flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• Distributor or broker experience is a plus.
• Deep understanding of market trends and competition activity is an asset.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish-speaking) a plus.
