About the position

The Manager, On-Premise Hospitality is a pivotal role within Enthuse Marketing, responsible for driving business and commercial performance across a state or multi-state field unit. This position requires a strong focus on developing long-term partnerships with local counterparts and the distributor network. The Manager will oversee a team of customer-facing Advisors and Educators, each tasked with promoting brand and commercial initiatives for a diverse portfolio of spirit brands in targeted on-premise accounts and designated markets. Reporting directly to the agency's Program Performance Director, the Manager will assess and report on field activities to division leadership while ensuring the execution of agency policies in the field. In this role, the Manager will be accountable for legal and compliance matters, ensuring that all marketing code guidelines are enforced and monitored with direct reports. Staff management is a key responsibility, involving the hiring, onboarding, and development of the local on-premise team, providing mentorship and career pathing. The Manager will also manage financial responsibilities for the local unit, including account support and travel and expense planning. A significant aspect of the role involves planning, tracking, and implementing brand and portfolio engagement strategies using performance data provided by the agency and client. The Manager will lead key initiatives on behalf of the designated team, which includes training on brand/category knowledge and business skills, managing point of sale materials, and implementing brand and portfolio programming. They will also curate insights on brand, market, competition, and customer trends, ensuring that local reporting efforts align with leadership requests. As a local market expert, the Manager will seek out promotional opportunities and communicate effectively with complementary client programs to ensure seamless in-market executions. The role requires travel within the assigned territory to work closely with direct reports, fostering a supportive team culture and highlighting successes to drive local initiatives across the agency team and with local client and distributor partners.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce and monitor all legal and marketing code guidelines with direct reports.
  • Hire, onboard, and develop local on-premise team, providing feedback, mentorship, and career pathing.
  • Communicate regularly with client counterpart and distributor network to align on market execution approaches for local team.
  • Manage financial responsibilities for local unit, including account support and T&E planning.
  • Plan, track, and implement brand and portfolio engagement using performance data provided by agency and client.
  • Lead key initiatives on behalf of designated team including brand/category knowledge and business skills training.
  • Manage point of sale materials and brand/portfolio programming implementation.
  • Curate brand, market, competitive, and customer insights for local reporting efforts.
  • Seek out promotional opportunities within the market for client's brand portfolio.
  • Communicate and partner with complementary client programs for efficient in-market executions.
  • Travel within the assigned territory to work with direct reports 1:1 to understand individual successes and challenges.
  • Highlight team successes and drive support for local initiatives across the agency team and with local client and distributor partners.

Requirements

  • College degree (4-year) or B.A./B.S. equivalent with focus on Communications, Marketing or Business.
  • 5-7 years of people management experience required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the spirits industry, agency experience preferred.
  • Experience in a field-based role, management experience required.
  • Distributor or broker experience is a plus.
  • Proven strong customer relationship experience.
  • Strong budget management skills.
  • Knowledge of liquor laws, regulations, and rules.
  • Deep understanding of market trends and competition activity is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Persuasive selling and negotiation skills are required to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to work remotely and flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to and from accounts.
  • Desire to lead, coach, and develop a team.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish-speaking) a plus.
