About the position

The Manager of Operations is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing daily operational activities within the natural gas distribution system across multiple communities. This role focuses on ensuring efficient service delivery, managing budgets, and fostering team collaboration to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and revise processes and documentation to promote streamlined, efficient services.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to problem solve issues and inform on company performance.
  • Develop, schedule, and conduct regular supervisor meetings with each team member.
  • Create facility schedule to ensure operational hours are covered.
  • Develop and monitor functional area budgets for efficient resource utilization.
  • Review staff requirements to ensure sufficient trained resources are available.
  • Engage in proactive communication with management team and lead change initiatives.
  • Represent the company to regulatory authorities and public officials.
  • Establish business relationships with area developers and contractors to increase gas sales.
  • Initiate and supervise service and construction orders for new main construction and replacements.
  • Schedule and conduct quality control audits of work performed by assigned employees.
  • Work closely with engineering to identify system improvements and upgrades.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints to maintain high customer service levels.
  • Coordinate activities for emergencies, outages, and pressure problems.
  • Direct three teams totaling 11-50 employees, determining team structure and roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience in operations management.
  • Ability to provide direction and constructive feedback to staff.
  • Natural gas utility experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Valid Driver's license with flexibility to travel to other locations as needed.
  • Ability to perform analysis involving ratios, percentages, and simple statistical methods.
  • Intermediate level computer skills with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
