About the position

The Operations Development Manager for PPD will manage package development and project management activities to assure timely and cost-effective new product launches, promotions, and maintenance of basic business activities. They are responsible for own project workload. They will have active participation in identifying new and improved processes that will result in effective cost reduction/harmonization programs for new or existing products. In assigned project category, they will lead package innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop packaging components.
  • Provide direction to test and evaluate packaging components.
  • Meeting coordination, minutes & follow-ups.
  • Guide Marketing in new product brief creation.
  • Communication Link (between the Division & Industrial teams).
  • Project Development Timeline preparation and tracking.
  • Manage projects through QCP (all aspects).
  • Feasibility Costs and COG analysis.
  • Risk Analysis coordination & communication.
  • Aesthetic/Color Approvals with Marketing.
  • Value Analysis support to plant and team.
  • Research and Development coordination.
  • Manage project work as necessary or required.
  • Interface with all manufacturing management and associated or related functional areas.
  • Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new or emerging trends within the PD discipline.
  • Provide Development support to team members as needed on project launches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in package/product development and project management, preferably in cosmetics, consumer goods, or related field is required.
  • Ability to travel to vendors and plants (10-15% of time) required.
  • French Language skill is a plus.
  • Proficient in PC skills, including MS Project, MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and suppliers.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, materials, and information for each project.
  • Ability to assume a leadership role in the Brand Development team and special projects as needed.
  • Continuously develop and stay updated on new trends and technologies.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to be onsite, in the office as this is an essential function of the position.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
