About the position

The Private Equity Performance Improvement Manager at Alvarez & Marsal focuses on enhancing operational performance within the retail sector. This role is part of the Transformation Services team, which aims to identify and implement strategies that improve EBITDA and cash flow for private equity portfolio companies. Responsibilities

  • Identify high-impact opportunities for EBITDA and cash flow improvements across retail organizations.
  • Implement performance improvement programs to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Redefine roles and responsibilities within client organizations to support strategic objectives.
  • Establish supportive processes and execute workforce reductions as necessary.
  • Synthesize insights from diverse data sources to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Develop findings and make strategic recommendations based on thorough analysis in the consumer or retail sector.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in the consumer retail industry, preferably in merchandising, supply/demand planning, or sourcing.
  • Demonstrated success and in-depth knowledge in performance improvement within the consumer or retail sectors.
  • Experience in consulting or industry roles related to margin management, pricing strategies, and product/SKU optimization.
  • Hands-on experience in supply chain management, organizational structure, and process improvement metrics/KPIs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with private equity firms or relationships, either personally or professionally.
  • Experience in both professional services and industry roles.
