About the position

The Manager, Operations is responsible for overseeing the Benefits Plan Administration team, ensuring that benefit plans are programmed correctly and that performance guarantees and service level agreements are met. This role involves managing team performance, creating project plans, and providing training to new analysts. The manager will also interface with customers to resolve complaints and take on additional responsibilities in the absence of the Director.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team members in project management, programming, testing, and documentation to drive performance and meet service level agreements.
  • Develop and implement plans of action for programming changes to increase efficiency and performance.
  • Create project plans and perform analysis to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Manage employee performance through defined scorecards and metrics, providing ongoing feedback and coaching.
  • Identify training needs within the team and develop training plans accordingly.
  • Maintain a positive work environment that supports self-directed teams and facilitates collaboration.
  • Develop and document workflow, systems requirements, and process analysis using software development methodology.
  • Lead data validation projects to support system enhancements and ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Coordinate responses to external and internal audits, ensuring workflows support compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 5 years' PBM Benefit Analyst experience.
  • 3+ years' supervisory experience in a PBM technical environment required.
  • Ability to analyze benefit plans and programming rules for automated claims processing systems.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to train employees on products, procedures, and systems across multiple lines of PBM business.
