About the position

As an Operations Manager at StandardAero, you will oversee and coordinate a variety of repair, overhaul, and re-manufacturing activities within a defined production group. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with output and quality standards while providing leadership in day-to-day production objectives, scheduling, material usage, budgets, manpower, and equipment resources. You will be responsible for directing production planning, monitoring yields, and implementing policies to achieve strategic operating goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate repair, overhaul, and re-manufacturing activities within a defined production group.
  • Direct the production planning and scheduling process according to sales volume and inventory requirements.
  • Plan day-to-day operations, assign manpower, authorize overtime, and control costs.
  • Monitor production yields daily and make necessary adjustments to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with production, supply, sales, engineering, and customer service to achieve production standards.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures to meet strategic operating goals.
  • Perform capacity planning for equipment, floor space, and manpower requirements.
  • Build and develop team approaches to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Produce and maintain performance measures to display strengths and weaknesses within the work group.
  • Monitor and report on capital expenditures in relation to budgeted amounts.
  • Perform administrative activities for effective management of the work group, including employee selection and counseling.
  • Participate in business unit management teams to assist with strategic plans and budgets.
  • Exercise authority in hiring, training, and performance appraisal of direct reports.
  • Carry out special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and understand company instructions and compliance regulations.
  • Several years of turbine engine maintenance, operation, and testing experience.
  • Several years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Part 145 repair station experience preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
