About the position

The Operations Manager at DSV Air & Sea Inc. is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, including warehousing, receiving, and shipping of products. This role involves planning inbound and outbound volume, managing customer communications, and ensuring efficient space utilization and equipment management. The Operations Manager also plays a key role in people management, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations, while driving continuous improvement efforts to meet productivity and service goals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day site operations including warehousing, receiving, and shipping of products.
• Plan inbound and outbound volume and manage customer communication activities.
• Ensure compliance with company service and cost objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts and suggest cost-saving measures.
• Manage operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals, complying with client SLAs.
• Collaborate with Human Resources for hiring, training, and professional development programs.
• Conduct performance appraisals and address performance issues.
• Plan daily work schedules and assign duties to warehouse staff based on priorities.
• Review volume demands to reorganize warehouse space and staffing needs.
• Ensure effective training is delivered to team members and adherence to SOPs.
• Maintain high motivation levels in team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Conduct routine staff meetings to review work activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 7 years of experience in a logistics/distribution environment.
• 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated proficiency in WMS systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.
