About the position

As a professional in Deloitte's Tax Technology Consulting (TTC) team, you will be part of a dynamic group that provides an integrated approach to technology implementations aimed at helping tax departments maximize their strategic value to the organization. This role is pivotal in delivering services for companies that are implementing tax solutions related to enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and tax applications. As an Oracle Manager, you will play a crucial role in the growth and success of Deloitte Tax LLP by engaging in various activities that contribute to the overall objectives of the firm. Your responsibilities will include managing day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors, ensuring that client engagements are delivered effectively. You will be tasked with managing and delivering components of Oracle EBS Financials and/or Oracle Cloud ERP or indirect tax engine client engagements and teams. This involves identifying, designing, and implementing innovative technology solutions to address the unique tax needs of clients. You will also be expected to understand and articulate the broader TTC practice and Deloitte's overall strategy, maintaining relationships that serve clients holistically. In addition to client management and delivery, you will take on a mentorship role, acting as a counselor and coach to junior staff, participating in staffing processes, and engaging in retention activities. Business development is another key aspect of your role, where you will develop and maintain contacts, organize and lead pursuit teams, and contribute to the overall business development efforts of the firm. The TTC practice at Deloitte is dedicated to helping tax departments pursue a streamlined, transparent, and efficient tax function that enhances compliance, reporting, and planning responsibilities while positioning tax as a strategic business advisor for the digital era. Our team specializes in tax and is equipped to address the unique needs and obligations of corporate tax functions. As technology specialists, we assist clients in making informed technology choices for both direct and indirect taxes across all business cycles that have a tax impact. The TTC team is the largest of its kind, offering a unique combination of skills, methodologies, and practical experience to ensure successful ERP implementations. Our multi-disciplinary approach combines tax technical and technology skillsets, enabling greater impact and efficiency within our clients' organizations. We provide services that include operating model evaluation, roadmap development for desired future states, data management solutions, automation opportunities, tax portals, cloud for enterprise systems, agile resourcing models, and compliance solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors.
  • Manage and deliver components of Oracle EBS Financials and/or Oracle Cloud ERP or indirect tax engine client engagements and teams.
  • Identify, design, and implement technology and innovative solutions to address tax needs.
  • Understand and articulate the broader TTC practice and Deloitte overall.
  • Maintain relationships and serve clients holistically.
  • Perform the role of counselor and coach; participate in the staffing process and retention activities.
  • Develop and maintain contacts, organize and lead pursuit teams; contribute to business development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in implementation of Oracle EBS Financials and/or Oracle Cloud ERP including tax requirements for direct tax and/or indirect tax.
  • Direct tax experience such as corporate income tax, tax provision, operational transfer pricing, and state income taxation.
  • Experience with Oracle TRCS and other EPM Suite applications.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One of the following active accreditations: Licensed CPA, Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, Project Management (PMP), or other technical certifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred indirect tax experience with using native Oracle product functionality, ONESOURCE Indirect Determination, Vertex, Avalara, Sovos (Taxware).
  • Experience with a Big 4 firm, large ERP/consulting organization, or a large IT department of a multinational company with tax-related experience.
  • Experience working directly with clients.
