About the position

The Manager of Organ Procurement Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and coordination of procurement efforts to maximize the number and quality of organs recovered and transplanted. This role involves mentoring and training Organ Procurement Coordinators, ensuring compliance with policies, and maintaining professional relationships with various stakeholders. The position also supports clinical operations and participates in donor management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Guide designated staff toward accomplishment of MTNs Mission and goals, including scheduling, training, and development.
  • Direct work planning, approve call schedules, time accounting, and vacation requests, ensuring compliance with established policies.
  • Serve as a mentor to new staff by coordinating and participating in orientation and regular meetings to assess progress.
  • Assess and guide performance of assigned staff through interactions when functioning as administrator on call.
  • Collaborate with Organ Procurement leadership for staff selection, performance reviews, salary and promotional recommendations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide ongoing staff training to ensure compliance with policies and staff development.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the field through participation in NATCO, ABTC, and AOPO.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the policies and protocols for the Organ Recovery and Surgical Care Unit.
  • Work closely with the Sr. Director, Organ Procurement Services to ensure implementation and compliance with all policies and protocols.
  • Maintain professional relationships and rapport with leadership, medical, nursing, and ancillary staff within and outside of the organization.
  • Support the CCO and Sr. Director, Organ Procurement Services in overseeing all Donor Care and Surgical Recovery Unit operations.
  • Participate in administrative call schedule to ensure efficient operation of donor activities.
  • Perform all responsibilities of an OPC and participate in the role when necessary.
  • Oversee all aspects of donor evaluation and management.
  • Regularly assess and identify opportunities for improvement in processes and lead/coordinate improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in health sciences or equivalent required.
  • RN licensure, or other allied health certification preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Three years experience as a procurement coordinator or similar role in the organ procurement industry preferred.
  • Active CPTC certification required.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and participate in 24-hour call.
  • Strong organizational, problem analysis, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate peers and achieve cooperation.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, with excellent tracking/reporting skills, effective written and verbal communication.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with MTN motor vehicle policy.
  • Must have reliable transportation to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and transfer short distances.
