The Manager of Outside Sales is responsible for leading a geographically assigned team of Residential Connectivity Sales Supervisors and their respective teams. This role involves managing daily operations focused on selling best-in-class services to residential customers while supporting the goals of soliciting new prospective customers. The manager is expected to actively and consistently support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience, ensuring that the team meets and exceeds budgeted headcount and sales goals. As a charismatic and enthusiastic leader, the Manager will create excitement and energy within the team, building and leading effective teams while developing skills in others. Strong project management skills are essential, as the manager will need to prioritize multiple tasks and initiatives in a fast-paced environment. The position requires the ability to set clear expectations for team members and hold them accountable in a consistent and fair manner. The Manager will also be responsible for staff functions, including selection, training, development, performance evaluation, discipline, termination, and salary/status change recommendations. Identifying knowledge and training gaps within the team and developing plans to address these gaps is crucial. Familiarity with reporting and analytics necessary to drive and support business decisions is also required. The role involves collaboration with other departments and support teams to achieve overall goals and objectives. The work allocation for the Residential Connectivity Sales leaders will consist of approximately 30% fieldwork and 70% office work. Additionally, the Manager will coach the team to follow Charter's Sales Process, communicate territory assignments, monitor payroll processes, and ensure timely and accurate approval of all commission payments. Administrative tasks related to all sales activities must be completed accurately, and the Manager should maintain a detailed understanding of Charter's product offerings and value propositions in the markets they serve. The role also requires maintaining current knowledge of the marketplace, including competition, and fostering positive and professional relationships with customers, business partners, and co-workers. Reports will be prepared as needed, and other duties may be assigned by leadership.
