About the position

The Manager of Outside Sales at Spectrum is responsible for leading a team of Residential Connectivity Sales Supervisors and their teams, focusing on selling best-in-class services to residential customers. This role involves managing daily operations, meeting sales goals, and enhancing the customer experience. The manager will also be tasked with staff development, performance evaluation, and ensuring accountability within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a geographically assigned team of Residential Connectivity Sales Supervisors.
  • Meet and exceed budgeted headcount and sales goals.
  • Support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Monitor staff functions including selection, training, development, and performance evaluation.
  • Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable.
  • Identify knowledge and training gaps and develop plans to address them.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Prepare reports as needed and complete administrative tasks related to sales activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of Outside Sales or related work experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong technical and computer skills.
  • Ability to travel to assigned territories using a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Ability to work outside for extended periods in any season and/or during inclement weather.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Direct Sales practices.
  • Experience with consumer education of products and services.
  • Knowledge of cable or telecommunications service.
  • Sales supervisory experience preferred.
