About the position

The Manager of Patient Access is responsible for overseeing the Patient Access department, ensuring effective operations in admitting, registration, and financial services. This role involves coaching staff, implementing strategies to enhance customer service, and aligning departmental goals with organizational objectives. The manager will work closely with the Director of Patient Access to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to contribute to the overall revenue cycle management goals of Ensemble Health Partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operations for admitting, registration, and financial services departments at acute care locations.
  • Ensure accurate assignment of MRNs and completion of medical necessity checks.
  • Provide excellent customer service and proper patient instructions.
  • Oversee Financial Service Representatives and ensure proper accounting processes are followed.
  • Develop and manage departmental staffing needs and prepare monthly reports.
  • Establish departmental goals to optimize performance and improve operations.
  • Collect and interpret performance data to make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to impact organizational goals.
  • Assist in developing dyad-reporting patient access staff and provide necessary training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification
  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) certification
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience in Healthcare Management/Administration
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years management experience in healthcare industry
  • Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance or call center preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft applications
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Understanding of information technology to collaborate with the I.T. department.
