About the position

The Manager of Patient Access at Oklahoma Heart Hospital is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of patient admission areas. This role involves managing staff, ensuring accurate information flow between departments, and providing support to patients and their families. The manager will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of patient admission areas.
  • Conduct employee counseling and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee financial counselors and staff scheduling.
  • Ensure all information received by ancillary departments is complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate coverage of admission areas, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.
  • Assist in information gathering for the budget process.
  • Interact with patients, families, physicians, nurses, managers, and other staff.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manager) preferred or to be obtained within 2 years.
  • 2-5 years of admissions or business office experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
