About the position

The Patient Advocacy Operations Manager at Astria Therapeutics is responsible for executing the internal and external patient advocacy strategy across various programs and patient communities. This role emphasizes a patient-first culture and involves managing project operations, logistics, and direct engagement with patients and communities to support the company's mission of delivering life-changing therapies for allergic and immunological diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional business partners to support patient advocacy activities.
  • Manage team calendar, including internal and external patient advocacy activities and conferences.
  • Oversee department budget, including contract initiation, invoicing, and expense reports.
  • Manage corporate sponsorship and donation review processes, ensuring compliance and relevant material collection.
  • Organize internal patient advocacy initiatives and events, including scheduling and logistics.
  • Manage Astria's presence at external patient advocacy engagements, including logistics and materials preparation.
  • Coordinate logistics for guest speakers and patient/caregiver consultants, including scheduling and payment processing.
  • Prepare for monthly Patient Advocacy Working Group meetings, including agenda preparation and follow-through on action items.
  • Maintain compliance with the Patient Advocacy Working Group charter.
  • Engage with pan-rare disease patient organizations and capture insights for internal distribution.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and partners to ensure timely project completion.
  • Assist the Patient Advocacy team in developing presentations and maintaining electronic filing systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 5+ years of related experience.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in patient advocacy, corporate communications, or operations in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology fields.
  • Superior organizational, administrative, and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborative work style with resourcefulness and creativity.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and flexible with a desire to learn new skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior administrative and/or operations experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience working with or for non-profit organizations.
