The Manager, Patient Care is responsible for overseeing a direct care unit or units within Northwell Health, ensuring fiscal, clinical, and operational accountability. This role involves creating a safe and healthy work environment that promotes high-quality patient and family-centered care. The manager will lead an interdisciplinary team, fostering a culture of engagement and optimal patient outcomes while upholding the organization's values and mission.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the fiscal, clinical, and operational accountability of the patient care unit(s).
• Create a safe and healthy work environment that supports high-quality patient care.
• Execute the strategic plan through effective communication with team members.
• Build relationships centered on trust, respect, and inclusion among colleagues and patients.
• Recruit, manage performance, and inspire team members to align with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with team members to improve quality and patient-centered care.
• Promote standards of professional practice and inspire clinical staff in continuing education.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge about population health and healthcare legislation.
• Manage the unit's budget and implement action plans for variances.
• Mentor and educate the care team on business operations and service excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing; Master's preferred.
• Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• At least 5 years of nursing experience with evidence of leadership mastery at the Assistant Manager level or equivalent.
