About the position

The Manager, People Operations & Experience at Shell Recharge Solutions is responsible for ensuring operational excellence in HR services, including payroll and benefits administration, and HRIS data maintenance. This role involves leading a team to manage day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and aligning practices with company policies. The position plays a critical role in supporting the company's growth in the electric mobility sector by fostering a positive employee experience and implementing innovative HR solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to direct reports, People Partners, and business leaders in HR policies and programs related to payroll, benefits, and HRIS.
  • Oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS data maintenance for the North America region.
  • Monitor efficiency and effectiveness of operations, providing analytics and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate direct reports to ensure efficient operation of the HR Operations team.
  • Manage the maintenance and data integrity of HRIS, leading implementations and enhancements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors and ensure timely filings and testing for health plans.
  • Review contracts and communication materials for accuracy and compliance.
  • Execute new HR programs and manage operational initiatives to deliver results through the People Operations team.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements related to employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide recommendations on progressive HR practices and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or similar field required.
  • Minimum of 8+ years' experience in HR with at least 3 years' experience leading a remote team.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and wage regulations in multiple US states, including California.
  • Ability to communicate and present results across multiple disciplines and levels of the organization.
  • Capable of handling confidential information with discretion and resolving unforeseen situations calmly.
  • Self-directed problem solver with the ability to produce timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to balance multiple projects and deliver results through others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting a remote, global workforce.
  • Understanding of employment laws and practices in Canada.
  • Previous experience in Technology, SaaS, or Electric Vehicle industry.
