About the position

Aura is seeking a dynamic and experienced People Operations Manager to oversee the People Operations function, ensuring smooth operations in benefits administration, compliance, payroll, and policy management. This role is crucial for enhancing employee experience through operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual benefits open enrollment process, including analyzing plan options and negotiating with vendors.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive wellness initiatives to support a healthier workforce.
  • Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accurate and timely payments and compliance with payroll-related laws.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits and payroll vendors, managing relationships for service delivery and issue resolution.
  • Manage Leave of Absence (LOA) requests and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Lead HR compliance reporting and audits, ensuring adherence to labor laws and benefit regulations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for employees on benefits inquiries and policy clarifications.
  • Regularly review and update the employee handbook and company policies to reflect current laws and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Finance and InfoSec teams for audit support and compliance documentation.
  • Partner with HRIS and HR Business Partners to enhance HR operations and align with strategic goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in People Operations or HR roles in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong experience with Workday and ADP or similar systems.
  • Proven experience managing benefits administration and open enrollment processes.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax compliance, and payroll reporting.
  • Solid understanding of compliance reporting and HR compliance administration.
  • Experience managing Leave of Absence (LOA) programs.
  • Familiarity with employment law and ability to apply changes to company policies.
  • Excellent project management skills with high attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certifications are a plus.
